Some Cocktails for the World Cup
Filed in archive Summer Cocktails on June 17, 2010
Courtesy of S TV's Andy Gemmel, we bring you the latest in our installment of World Cup cocktails. We want to find even more drinks to enjoy during the summer's football, so let us know if you have any!
Caipirinha
Our representative from Brazil, this is a drink for those with a sweet tooth. You will need...
Cachaca Rum (1 1/2 shots)
Sugar (2 teaspoons)
Lime Juice
Fill a cup three-quarters full with, preferably, freshly squeezed lime juice. Add the sugar and stir. Put some crushed ice in a shaker, add the mix and top off with the rum. Shake and strain into a tall glass over crushed ice.
Sangria

We have chosen the ever-popular Sangria to represent Spain for the World Cup. This is one of the many ways to make the drink, and we'll cover it in more detail later. You will need...
Brandy (1 1/2 shot)
Red Wine (1 bottle)
Lemon
Orange
Port (1 1/2 shot)
Vanilla
Lemonade
Put the shots of brandy and port in an ice-filled jug. Add the bottle of red wine (more/less as preferred), chop the fruit into quarters and throw in the mix. Add a pinch of vanilla and top off with as much lemonade as desired. Keep stirring and adding ice, topping off with more wine over time.
